The Interactive Science & Storytelling Program

With the help of audience volunteers, we conduct science experiments to bring an exciting story to life!

"Mystery of the Golden Piano" - Now through May 2019

The Story... Grab your spurs and journey with us to the Wild West, where a legendary bank-robbing outlaw is back in town, about to strike again! After the Sheriff mysteriously vanishes, two young kids saddle up to foil the great heist and put a rotten cowboy back behind bars!

The Science... We use awesome science experiments to bring key parts of the story to life. Volunteers from the audience will:

  • Make the colors of the wild western sunset appear by using special pH indicators.
  • Create the sound of "fireworks" by setting off a chain of chemical reactions with common household items.
  • Witness the effects of inertia and gravity on a runaway train.
  • And much, much more!

After each experiment, the audience makes a hypothesis. Then we change a variable and repeat the experiment to see the new result!
